How much does SEO cost?
SEO costs are quite difficult to package, because search engine optimisation services differ from the majority of other services, in that the kind of action - and the amount of action which needs to be taken, differs a great deal from one project to the next.
In order to be able to give you a realistic idea of how much it will cost to optimise your website, I'll need some info - so just send me an email , and I'll reply asking you some questions, so I can give you an SEO quotation.

NEW - SEO One Off Cost
A few months ago I began an experiment which involves a process which results in the client having a major boost to search engine traffic, for a one off cost. And the one of cost isn't that high either!
Results of the experiment surprised me a LOT!! So much so that I am now offering this one off SEO package to small businesses.
It won't work for everyone, it really depends on the competitiveness of your market, but if you run a small business & you have a relatively small budget - this may well be the best choice for you.
For more info, just enter your name & email below - and I'll reply to explain how it works & what the cost is.

For ongoing SEO costs, for a quick ball park idea of how much you're likely to looking at - click the image below to use the SEO costs calculator.
Please note, the SEO costs website is not mine, it belongs to a company called Knowall Media - but I'm sure they won't mind me linking to it.
This calculator gives a rough, ball park idea, based on the competitiveness of the term on Google, but it can't completely do away with the need for proper research. Often I find that this calculator works out 20-30% higher than the rates I actually charge (sometimes it gives calculations far higher) but it's a good place to start if you want to get a rough impression of where your budget needs to be set, for the keywords you're focusing on.
If you type in your keywords & a rediculous figure is produced, not a figure affordable to your business, then it doesn't mean you can't utilize organic SEO for your website, it just means you may have to focus initially on more realistic keywords, which are accessible within your budget.
My SEO services are usually far more affordable than the rates you will be quoted from most SEO agencies, companies who have many administration staff & sales staff who take a chunk of the money you pay - with me, you're paying 100% for SEO work.
I get many requests for SEO quotations in which the client asks the question, why can I not just build some SEO packages, and list a range of SEO costs on my website - to save my customers, and myself, some time.
The truth is I would love to be able to do that, and I think most SEO consultants wish that it were possible to make SEO costs so much more simple to work out & to package, but unfortunately the very nature of search engine optimisation prevents this.
How much it will cost for me, or any other real search engine optimisation (optimization if you're in the US)consultant get the results you require, will depend on multiple factors.
How much it costs you to work with a UK SEO consultant, or a search engine optimisation consultant in the US, Australia or anywhere else, is going to be completely different to what it would cost a different business in a different industry with different goals.
If you're really just looking for a SEO company who can give you a list of prices, so you can sign up & then forget about it - be careful. Because it would be the easiest way to sell SEO, some organisations which are doing just that - selling SEO as a comodity, without necesarily having a real passion for offering great SEO services - are the kind of organisation that are likely to give you what you want, and provide you with a one size suits all SEO package - even though such a thing cannot possibly exist.
Whatever the case is - Real SEO is not cheap, because it is based around man (or woman) hours, it's not something which can be done with automated tools. If you are under the impression that you should be paying £30 per month for SEO, possibly based on having received a telesales call offering guaranteed Google search engine rankings for a very low monthly fee, then you really don't have a realistic picture of what SEO is & what it's likely to cost.
The companies who phone you, or who spam you, with offers of super cheap monthly SEO packages with guaranteed top Google rankings - if they can really do what they say - why do they need to resort to the lowest result producing marketing methods such as cold calling or email spamming, to try to tell people about their business?
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably IS to good to be true....
SEO is about man (or woman) hours, it's physical work, both the onpage & offpage elements of search engine optimisation require actual manual physical effort on a continual basis - it cannot be automated.
We need to do in depth keyword research, market research, competitor research, keyword mapping, and so on - even before we start getting our hands dirty with the real work, so you can imagine how time consuming it is. What's more - if corners are cut & the prep work isn't done - it will show in the results.
Cheap monthly SEO services are often services based around automated submission packages, these people will talk about submitting your website to thousands of search engines & directories... for very small monthly figures. Actually, usually they just spend a few minutes entering your website details into some auto software (which you could probably buy yourself for less than the monthly cost as a one off) and move on.
This isn't SEO, and it won't gain top search engine positions on Google or the other major search engines.
If you're looking for cheap SEO services you really need to be careful, as what you may well end up with, is not real SEO services at all. Instead you may end up paying for a pointless submission service, or worse still for dangerous shortcuts & loophole based services which may give some temporary results - but may also end up with your website being penalised, or even removed from the search engines.
My SEO services are affordable - that is, I work mainly with small businesses, and most small businesses can afford to use my services. I'm not the cheapest UK SEO consultant - but actually how cheap or expensive a search engine optimisation service is, is depends on the effectiveness of the work carried out, and therefore the results. So it's not really a question of how much does an SEO consultant make per hour, or what is the cost - but what is the result that is important.
If you spend x on SEO, and you get a return of xxx, then you've made a return, so it hasn't actually cost anything.
But there's a risk, you may invest x and get only x in return, or you may invest x and get zero in return, that risk is always there - the only way you can mitigate that risk is by being careful to select an affective SEO consultant.
You need to keep in mind, that you're not looking for cheap SEO, you're looking for effective SEO - the more effective the SEO is, the more return you'll get. The cheaper SEO services you hire, the more risk there is that you'll get less return, and the SEO will therefore cost you money, rather than make you money.
Why would any effective, experienced SEO consultant offer themselves out at a cheap rate? I wouldn't. I'm not cheap, but I'm very effective, which means the SEO i do, is high return on investment.
What most people don't realise is that optimising a website properly for the search engines, in order for the website to achieve it's full potential, can often take more time than the design of the website itself. It involves keyword research, high quality content creation & optimization, and both on page & off page SEO, all this takes time.
However - real & effective SEO services can offer fantastic return on investment. Effective SEO services will result in good quantities of high quality search engine traffic - which will translate into new customers & increased sales, as long as your website converts.
So what you should be focusing on is the quality of the search engine optimization consultant you're considering using - and therefore the return on investment, rather than being focused only on the price.
Another point I'd like to make, is that SEO is usually something that should be done over a period of time. Most websites have a lot more potential, than a website owner would want to invest in exploiting all in one go.
Therefore, initially you need to decide how much you want to invest on increasing the quality & quantity of search engine traffic - you might decide to approach a consultant such as myself, with a figure of how much you want to spend to begin with.
Once you have invested this money in the time of an SEO consultant, you can view the results, and decide on when to invest more, and how much to invest.
This is of course assuming you find a REAL SEO consultant who will give you a real return on your investment - there are many fake SEO firms out there, so make sure you do your research.
If you'd like to get a price for me optimising your website, just send me an email, and I'll reply with some questions which I'll need answers to so that I can quote you.
